The popularity of bamboo products is increasing with every click of the mouse. Many products can be made of bamboo and because of the increased popularity investors and manufacturers are trying to educate themselves about the different uses of bamboo and fulfilling the needs of their customers.  Because of the durability and abundance of bamboo, the uses of bamboo are endless.  As the ancient Asian saying goes: “A man is born in a bamboo cradle and goes away in a bamboo coffin. Everything in between is possible with bamboo!”

We find that bamboo is being used for edible bamboo products to popular bamboo construction materials, medicines, fabrics and textile products and furniture to name a few and it is all been done for centuries. Bamboo experts and manufactures have been experimenting with many uses of bamboo and are still uncovering many new applications in which bamboo can be applied making our world cleaner, more sustainable and making products better because of great qualities of bamboo.

Since bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth and a sustainable product, it could easily substitute many if not all wood applications without having to cut down entire bamboo groves and even better, bamboo will continuously grow after it has been harvested without the need to replant or grow from seed.

More furniture products, flooring, fencing or even homes are being built with bamboo. The look and durability of bamboo is making it a more popular building material that many people are recognizing.

Growing in popularity right now is the use of bamboo fibers in fabrics and clothing. Bedding made of bamboo fibers is softer than most cotton beddings without the inflated expense.


Bamboo shoots are a common food in other parts of the world, and have now been incorporated into modern day cooking utensils, cutting boards and are also used to strengthen the finishes and features of other cookware.



Hollow tubes make excellent instruments, whether it is a flute or a drum, and bamboo is one of the best bases for instruments. The light, durable quality of the bamboo is coupled with its musical potential, and creates some of the most beautiful sounds that music has ever heard.

Of course, these aren’t all the uses for bamboo. There are many other types of products that can be made of bamboo, and all are coming back into their own as bamboo continues to grow more popular in the main stream economy.
